Ricardo makes bid to support Chinese University

Ricardo has teamed up with Harbin Engineering University, one of China’s leading higher education and research institutions, in a bid to provide engineering support.

UK automotive consultancy Ricardo plc has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Harbin Engineering University (HEU) in north-east China to pursue fundamental research, technology innovation and applications, research capability construction, and international collaborative research projects.

“Harbin is a leading institute in research and development in China, and Ricardo looks forward to working with the University’s leadership and technical teams under the terms of this MoU,” commented Ricardo UK managing director Martin Fausset. “In doing so we will explore the potential opportunities for technical and commercial where we can provide engineering or consultancy support.”

Harbin Engineering University (HEU) – formerly known as Harbin Shipbuilding Engineering Institute – is designated a ‘national key university’ and one of the ‘211 Project’ Universities which enjoy priority in future development.


Professor Ma Xiuzhen, Dean of HEU’s College of Power and Energy Engineering, added: “Ricardo is a leading engineering service company in many fields, including research, technology innovation and international partnership projects. We look forward to working together in what we believe will be a very a fruitful collaboration.”
